May 8th CAJ - 1 Kinnick - 3
CAJ played their most competitive game of the season! Both teams were scoreless at halftime. However, Kinnick started the 2nd half with a lot of pressure and scored twice within the first 10 minutes. CAJ finally got some offense going late in the half, and Hana Y. scored by heading the ball past the goal keeper off of a pass from Alisha N. Kinnick scored their final goal in the last minute of the game.
Apr 30th CAJ - 2 Zama - 5
On this sunny and warm day, CAJ played their best game of the season. Both of CAJ's first half goals came from free kicks. Hana Y. scored both of them--the first was assisted by Kimiko F. and Isabelle C., and the second was unassisted on a beautiful free kick. Unfortunately, Zama scored equalizing goals soon after each of CAJ's goals. With the score tied going into the second half, Zama managed to score the go-ahead goal with about 12 minutes left in the game. CAJ had some good chances throughout the half, but could not find the back of the net. Zama scored 2 more goals in extra time.
Apr 27th CAJ - 0 Yokota - 8
The rain was pouring down and the field was very muddy, but both teams played hard in spite of the poor conditions. It was very difficult to advance the ball. CAJ struggled to get any shots on goal, while Yokota had numerous opportunities. The game was finally called mid-way through the second half.
Apr 20th CAJ - 2 YIS - 15
CAJ made some adjustments from their game with YIS a week earlier to try and limit YIS's strong offensive attack. They were able to reduce the number of shots YIS took, but were unable to reduce the amount of goals scored. CAJ only managed 7 shots on goal, but were able to score 2 goals. Hana Y. scored a nice goal in the first half, and Christina K. scored on a penalty kick in the second half.
Apr 14th CAJ - 1 YIS - 12
CAJ faced a very strong YIS team, who started their assault on the CAJ goal from the beginning of the game. YIS ended up with 56 shots on goal. CAJ was able to score their second goal of the season on a beautifully placed free kick from Christina K. that Isabelle C. received and shot into the goal.

May 1st CAJ - 39 St. Maur - 31
A good way to end the regular season. Everyone played well and a lot. Seven different people scored, and we were able to do some fine tuning for next week's tournament. We are happy with our with a 5-1 regular season but not satisfied. There is still work to be done next week. These girls have continued to improve from week to week especially our defense. Today we decided not to run our full court pressure and worked on other aspects of our game. So, some unexpected people stepped up to make some plays. Hats off to S. Yamanaka (4 points) for filling in well for J. Mine and E. Sataraka who were under the weather. Come see the girls next week as they go for the gold. Thank you to all who have come out this year to really give us strong support and a home court advantage.
Apr 24th CAJ - 35 ISSH - 21
Another opponent bites the dust due to the pressure D that these girls played. The CAJ Knights continue to make great strides in their full-court pressure as the girls have learned to play tough even though they are constantly overmatched in size. Well, what they lack in size they constantly make up in team work. The way they rotate on defense and help each other is enough to move Coach Barber to tears. (Coach Hancock could be seen handing him tissue at halftime). These young ladies have far excelled their coaches' expectations in running their record to an impressive 4-1. Look out! St. Maur poses their last threat before the tournament. Come out and watch these girls play with all heart.
Apr 17th CAJ - 33 YIS - 24
Hm... it wasn't a pretty game, but we came out on top through perseverance. Again it was full court pressure that gave the Knights the best opportunity to score. True, we found a lid on the goal most of the time. However, the girls kept fighting and going to the basket. In the end the Knights just weren't to be denied. Hats off to some of our girls who were playing under the weather, namely R. Osborne. Good players don't make excuses and ours didn't. They just pushed through. Good job girls. We are starting to show some signs of being a pretty good team. Come on out to the next game and find out if we can continue this progress.
Apr 10th CAJ - 46 ASIJ - 34
Well. they got after it again. These girls brought the pressure of their full court defense again and chopped down another good team. Eight players scored again for the second game in a row and all the girls played hard on defense. There was plenty of drama going on outside the game as Coach Hancock missed half the game because of an injury. J. Barber, the Assistant Coach, filled in admirably and had a half time lead that made it easy for Coach Hancock to continue in the second half. The girls should be complemented. Nothing deters them. Not even injuries, foul trouble, and missing coaches can distract these young ladies from staying focused on their goal. Good leadership by J. Mine and R. Osborne must have a lot to do with that. Great game, great heart girls!
Apr 3rd CAJ - 47 Nishimachi - 24
Wow! These girls can get after it when they want. Better get out of the way. That was the impression they most have left on NIS. NIS was much taller and out rebounded us (we will work on this), but our girls just refused to give in and fought for ever inch (or centimeter) of the court. Playing full court man to man (or is that, ma'am to ma'am) defense, our opponent couldn't handle the pressure. What we lacked in size, we made up for in hustle and aggression. Each player showed what a little defense and a lot of heart can do. Good job Lady Knights.
May 1st CAJ - 23 St. Maur - 16
Congratulations to B team for winning their last game of the season! This leads to the season record of 4 wins and 3 losses. We started off fast and strong against St.Maur. The girls scored 10 points right off the bat and it looked like the girls were unstoppable from scoring. By the 2nd quarter, we did not allow our opponent to hardly score, and we changed our strategy by focusing on the defense and trying different things to keep the ball in our control. Everyone contributed in their own way and played hard till the end. Great job, Girls! Thanks to Elisabeth R. and Dawon L for playing with us in B team, and also to Caroline H. and Rachel A. for your encouragement and cheering so hard for the team! **Tori T.- 11pts, Elisabeth R.- 6pts, Abby C.- 4pts, and Jessica B.-2pts.
Apr 24th CAJ - 13 ISSH - 17
Apr 17th CAJ - 33 YIS - 20
Lady Knights played hard against YIS from the start, and were able to add another victory to our season record. With two of our players unable to join us anymore, we were down to 8 players. But nothing seemed to matter to the girls for they kept up with it and showed off a good team work till the end. The girls looked tired toward the last quarter, but they squeezed out their energy and scored 14 points during the 4th quarter. I was impressed by the girls for their attitudes and for their hard work! Keep up the good work, Knights! **Tory 19pts, Aiyanna 6pts, Rachel 4pts, Abby 2pts, and Jessica 2pts.
Apr 10th CAJ - 15 ASIJ - 28
We were ready to battle against ASIJ and we had a good start scoring few points right away. One of our players (Caroline) got injured in the beginning of the game but to my surprise, the girls kept themselves poised and focused despite all the hassel. We had few steals and attempted to score throughout the game; however, ASIJ was tough to handle with their tall girls rebounding and scoring after fast breaks. Lady Knights were aggressive and did not give up till the end. ** Tory 7pts, Rachel 4pts, Marie 2pts, Abby 2pts, Aiyanna 1pt.
Apr 3rd CAJ - 23 Nishimachi - 16
We looked up and seemed as ants compared to our opponent. That was the first thing we noticed about NIS. We got off to a slow start but gradually realized we were quicker than them. After that we took the fight (not literally, of course) to them. We wove our way through their defense and to the goal for layup after layup. Our defense was quick and aggressive. Each player contributed in her own way to a good win against a big opponent. Next we turn our sight to ASIJ to see if we chop down another formidable opponent.
